"Affordable, experienced, TRUSTWORTHY" Pete is my 4th mechanic in Portland. The first 3 seemed under-skilled and/or untrustworthy. I don't come in often, but when I need something Pete usually answers my email in (I'm not kidding) under 5 minutes. Once we set an appointment, my car is always fixed well, on time, and for a reasonable price. It's nice to know I won't need 5th mechanic in town. I will literally never go to anyone else. As for the waiting room...you can tell they're trying. Coffee, computers, chairs, TV, etc. Unfortunately all the furniture feels old, most of the chairs are uncomfortable, and the tables are too high. The layout is a little unfortunate, but some new furniture would go a loooooong way. 5 stars for being an awesome, honest auto shop. -1 star for an unfortunate waiting room.

We started going to this Honest One (almost 3 years ago) because it is quite close to our house. They've always been super-friendly and easy to work with, both on the phone and in the office. In those 3 years, every time I've called them, one of two people answers the phone. That kind of stability doesn't necessarily help keep my car running well, but it does mean I feel like I know these folks, and by extension, they know my car. That's a good thing on a car pushing 100,000 miles.I've had the oil changed many times, wiper blades and headlights replaced, brakes and engine serviced and even tires refilled with air, and not just free air, but full service and no charge. I recommend them without reservation.
